Burn-In Before Shipment
Extended run-in catches infant mortality in our plant, which is the difference between a warranty statistic and a roof access call.
To build LED products whose light output and color hold their specification over service life, by treating thermal design and component derating as the core of the engineering.
Who We Are
TDE-lighttech manufactures LED display systems and lighting products: fine pitch indoor video wall modules and cabinets, outdoor display and billboard systems, transit and wayfinding signage, and industrial and commercial luminaires including high bay, area, flood and linear fixtures. Production covers surface mount assembly of LED modules, driver and power supply integration, enclosure fabrication and sealing, optical and thermal assembly, module calibration and burn-in testing. We bin diodes for brightness and color consistency, calibrate modules so a wall reads as one surface, and document thermal performance because junction temperature governs how long the product keeps its output.
Integrators and facility owners around work with TDE-lighttech because LED products are usually judged years after purchase. A display that was uniform at commissioning and patchy after two summers had a thermal or binning problem from the start. A high bay fixture whose output faded early was run with its driver too hot. We design the heat path deliberately, derate drivers for the ambient conditions the product will actually see, seal outdoor enclosures to tested ratings with serviceable access, and burn in product before shipment so early failures happen in our plant rather than on a roof.

Sectors
Indoor fine pitch and outdoor billboard products share the same test discipline.
Client Feedback
Replacement panels blend into the wall without recalibration, two years after installation. That is the detail that separates a real manufacturer from an assembler.
They derated the drivers for the actual temperature at our roof level, which nobody else asked about. Three years in, we have not replaced one.
Our curved lobby element had thermal and access problems that they flagged during design. Solving them on paper saved a very awkward site discovery.
Send the application details to TDE-lighttech and we will return a design with measured thermal data and photometric information.
An LED product fails at its driver, its solder joints or its junction temperature, almost never at the diode itself. Our designs address heat path, driver derating and conformal protection from the first thermal model.
Our Advantages
Extended run-in catches infant mortality in our plant, which is the difference between a warranty statistic and a roof access call.
Ingress protection is validated rather than assumed from a gasket specification, and surge protection is sized for genuine installation exposure.
Junction and case temperatures are measured rather than estimated, because junction temperature is what actually governs lumen maintenance.
Products are built so a driver or module can be replaced in the field, instead of requiring the whole fixture or cabinet to be discarded.
Drivers are selected with margin for the installed ambient, addressing the single most common cause of premature LED product failure.
Brightness and color binning plus module-level calibration keep a wall reading as a single surface, including after a panel is replaced years later.
Power supplies run with real margin against their rating, since the driver, not the diode, is what usually fails first in a display or luminaire.
Enclosures are tested for ingress and thermal cycling as built, not credited with the rating of an individual component inside them.
Brightness and wavelength binning plus per-module calibration is what stops a large wall looking like a patchwork two years into its life.
Our Services

Weather-rated display cabinets with tested ingress protection, ultraviolet stable masking and louvers, surge protection, thermal management for solar gain and serviceable module access. Outdoor failures cluster around water ingress and heat, so sealing design and internal airflow receive as much attention as the optics.

Extended burn-in of finished product, electrical safety and photometric verification, ingress protection validation, color uniformity measurement and documented quality records. Early-life failures are found in our plant rather than on a customer roof, which is far cheaper for everyone involved.

Selection and integration of drivers and power supplies with attention to derating, ripple, dimming protocol compatibility, inrush, surge immunity and operating temperature. Drivers are the most common failure point in LED products, and running them near their thermal limit is how a ten-year product becomes a three-year one.

Manufacture of high bay, low bay, area, flood, linear and task luminaires with documented photometric performance, driver derating for the installed ambient temperature and heat sink design verified by thermal testing. Fixtures are built for driver replacement rather than as disposable sealed assemblies.

Production of indoor video wall modules and cabinets in close pixel pitches with binned diodes, module-level calibration for brightness and color uniformity, and cabinet construction designed for front or rear service access. Calibration data is stored with the module, so a replacement panel blends with the wall instead of standing out.

Bespoke LED signage, channel lettering, curved and irregular display surfaces, and architectural lighting elements fabricated to designer intent with structural and electrical engineering support. Custom geometry introduces thermal and serviceability problems that have to be solved during design rather than discovered at installation.

Our Process
We establish viewing distance and pitch, brightness requirement, ambient light, mounting and service access, environment, control system and any photometric or code requirement that applies.
Optical, thermal, electrical and mechanical design is developed with thermal modeling and a prototype or sample module for approval, including measured temperatures and photometric data.
Modules are assembled, drivers integrated, enclosures fabricated and sealed, and modules calibrated for brightness and color with calibration data retained against each unit.
Product is burned in and tested electrically, photometrically and for ingress protection, then shipped with documentation and commissioning support for installation and control configuration.
Send the application details to TDE-lighttech and we will return a design with measured thermal data and photometric information.

Projects & Case Studies

Fixtures were produced with drivers derated for the measured ambient at roof level, heat sinks verified by thermal testing, and field-replaceable drivers. Photometric data supported the lighting design calculation submitted for approval.

A close pitch video wall was produced with tightly binned diodes and module calibration data stored per panel, plus front service access for a studio with no rear clearance. Replacement panels installed since have blended without recalibrating the wall.

A curved display surface for a building lobby required custom module geometry. Thermal and service access problems were resolved during design, and structural and electrical engineering support was provided to the installing contractor.

A weather-rated display was built with validated ingress protection, surge protection sized for the exposed location, internal airflow managed for solar gain and serviceable modules accessible from a single side given the structural constraints.

Questions & Answers
It is a lumen maintenance projection derived from standardized testing and extrapolation, and it is only meaningful alongside the drive current and junction temperature it was derived at. The same diode can be rated very differently depending on how hard it is driven and how well it is cooled.
Because drivers contain electrolytic components that age rapidly with temperature, and many products place them in the hottest part of the fixture with little derating. We derate for the installed ambient and design for field driver replacement rather than treating the fixture as disposable.
Almost always binning or thermal. Diodes from loose brightness and color bins drift apart at different rates, and modules running hot lose output faster. Calibration at commissioning masks the problem initially, which is why it appears gradually rather than immediately.
With our displays, yes, because calibration data is stored per module and diodes are tightly binned. Products built without binning discipline or calibration storage generally need the surrounding area recalibrated, and sometimes the whole wall.
Yes, with engineering input during design. Curved and irregular geometry creates thermal and service access problems that are inexpensive to solve on paper and very expensive to solve on a finished installation, so we raise them early.
It is necessary but not sufficient. Thermal cycling, ultraviolet degradation, condensation inside the cabinet, surge exposure and wind loading all matter, and a cabinet that passes a water test can still fail from internal condensation. We design and test for the whole set of conditions.
